Abstract

The rapid growth of broiler chicken has to be balanced by an adequate dietary regimen. Not only macronutrients, but also minerals, trace elements and bioactive molecules are necessary to provide a nutritional supply according to the requirements. Bioactive myo-inositol, derived from endogenous synthesis or as dietary supplement is known to have manifold beneficial effects on metabolic processes in humans. In this context, the aim of this metabolomics study was to examine how dietary myo-inositol affects the plasma metabolic profile of young growing broilers.
