Bachelor Study Programs

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences enjoys an excellent reputation on both national and international level. The campus with its historic castle and gardens ranks amongst the most picturesque in Germany. The participation in the program "Humboldt reloaded" fosters research-oriented learning in small groups in the basic study period. Through the FIT-advanced training platform students can obtain additional soft skills and key qualifications.


Agricultural Biology looks at complex biological systems of plants, animals, and soil in the agricultural sector. Applying this natural science knowledge to specific problems in modern agricultural production allows for a optimization and further development of the global agricultural system for food security, sustainability, and social acceptance.

New starting in summer semester 2026

In the Bachelor's program in Agricultural Sciences with a focus on Horticultural Sciences, you have the opportunity to specialize in horticultural sciences from the very first semester. We offer special modules on horticulture, such as horticultural production physiology and crops and technology for greenhouse systems. This will qualify you for an interesting career in horticulture.

In the area of Biobased Products and Bioenergy, students look at implementing the change from fossil to biogenic resources. On the one hand, this includes agricultural production of biobased resources, and on the other hand the process of using the materials and energy to produce electricity, heat, and fuel.
